Not sure about you, but I tend to crave healthy treats after all the Christmas and New Year festivities. I guess a few too many pieces of Christmas pudding, Christmas cake and a handful of cocktails will do that to you.
These cacao brownies are definitely in the healthy category, but are jam packed full of flavour. Added bonus — they don’t require any baking!
Perfect for when you’re craving something sweet.
Thanks for stopping by and to my sister for the original recipe.
A few weeks ago I made these chocolate chunk raspberry biscuits. They were super delicious and probably the best biscuits I have ever tasted!
Here’s the recipe if you feel like tasting them for yourself!
Thanks for stopping by.
Six months ago I got hooked on coffee. It started one weekend with Jesse and I strolling down to our local cafe to taste their signature iced coffee. It now consists of a weekly visit for a latte – a drink I had never tried until this year.
So in honour of my new found tastebuds and all coffee lovers out there, I made these Double Chocolate Espresso Brownies.
P.S. If you’re a non-coffee drinker, never fear. The double chocolate in these brownies is bound to win you over with only a hint of coffee.
Birthdays have always been an important event in my family. Celebrations over lunch/dinner with presents and cake are a must.
Just like Christmas it’s not about the presents, but we love a good good excuse to show our loved ones how special they are.
So naturally when Jesse and I started going out (aka dating) I felt the need to show him how you really celebrate a birthday. In the past this has included gifts like lego and a Playstation for the child at heart; but most importantly, a new birthday cake each year.
Last year it was a lemon curd cheesecake which was pretty good if I do say so myself. This year Jesse requested a chocolate and salted caramel layer cake. So here it is – hope you like it!
One of the main attractions at our recent wedding were homemade caramels, made by yours truly, Jesse! Yes, I’ve taken over Boo’s blog for the day to bring you one of my favourite recipes.
Around 2 years ago, I went on a quest to find the perfect caramels, and eventually found them in this tasty and simple recipe. I affectionally call them “crack caramels”, as everybody who tries them immediately wants to know where they can find more and asks you when the next batch is coming at every opportunity. This recipe makes around 40–50 of these yummy sweets, so make sure you have some family or friends to share them with.
Hope you enjoy!
